QUOTE (Angelicalangie @ Jun 20 2008, 05:55 AM) *
As far as the beginning of a series goes its a 4 compared to the rest of the series and the strength of the acting that came over the next 10 years, it goes down to a 33, because they were still working out the rhythms interms of production and acting.

I've been rewatching some earlier episodes and I have noticed what you said: it feels a little bit more like they are acting and less like they really care about each other. Of course it's also true that SG1 wouldn't be much of a team at first since they didn't all know each other too well.....and the fact that one of them was an alien.

If we had gone ahead and done this kind of thing years ago we would be a lot better off today. I just hate the way Bush has gone the path of most politicians not doing anything until people are watching closely (it seems like half the news in summer relates to gas prices). I had thought he was better than that. But at least he is doing something.

The thing I noticed about the movie was how little dialogue there really was.

My problem with it was that when they gave it to the wraith they so obviously could have used it figure out how to avoid the effects of the virus. Of course that wasn't how it happened but it could have been the case.

Sateda is the one when Ronon's running again from the wraith on that Apocolyptic world? I forgot about it. I loved that episode!

Lol. It's actually one of a couple episodes that I have not seen. But flashbacks and friends have filled me in on the necessary details. I'll have to see it sometime when it's on TV.

So why didn't they wipe his memory like they did Jackson's?

lol. I didn't know. I also don't judge a show by its pilot, mostly because I didn't see the SG pilot tongue.gif

What do you mean "would have"? Didn't we get the knowledge and keep it? Or did we lose it by the end of the episode and I just forgot?

Beckett will return? How do you think they'll do that? Time travel? Flashbacks?

McKay: "What, I'm not allowed to have intuition?"
Weir: "You? No."

Mckay to Ronin: "Their operating system is a mess. Thank goodness I remember Dos.
Trust me, that was hilarious."

Mckay: "Unfortunately, the computer froze; it was completely locked up. You probably should have used a Mac."

That last one should be insulting cuz I like PCs tongue.gif

I've only seen each episode once so far and it'll probably take several viewings for me to cement most memories like these--it's just the way I am. But I have definitely noticed that Mckay has the most (and best) character development, imho. Sheppard, Teyla not so much. Weir yes but still less. Ford developed physically tongue.gif

Anyway, I just love Mckay's character, even if its his character that makes me hate him at times. There are a few occasions when I despise him, but those are mostly in SG1.

QUOTE (ddillard @ Jun 2 2008, 04:30 PM) *
A mutiny would be a nice twist. One thing that I am thinking may help is where he has been on Atlantis a few times and has had his life put at risk before a couple of times, one of which was on Atlantis itself. He may become a good leader I am not sure.

Disclaimer: I am barely finishing season 3 so forgive me if my information is off.

One problem with Woolsey being "converted" into a good leader is that they've done that a lot. A number of times he and others in SG1 and Atlantis have been convinced by the end of the episode that the people on the ground are always right...until the next episode. Still, I always like it anyway smile.gif I'm just gullible that way.

I'd never survive. It would be so amazing but leaving friends and family would be too much for me. I'd prefer the SGC because I could live on earth, but still I don't live in Colorado. Maybe I'd get some weekends off? tongue.gif

I liked Tao of Rodney a lot. I suppose there's not much original about it but it's just a lot of fun because it's Rodney tongue.gif

Wow. I hadn't heard much about that. I think that's dilluting the brand. Maybe it's just me, but it seems cartoons tend to be much lower quality than they used to be.

Perhaps.

It just seems to me that the Ancients are as arrogant as they come across to many SG characters. They consider it their decision whether to interfere in the "natural evolution" of others. And it was that arrogance that got them into trouble.
